Introducing effective collaborations between businesses, governments and civil society, to realise children’s rights.

11.10 – 11.45      Smarter Solutions: Tackling the root causes of child labour

Interactive panel discussion on multi-stakeholder initiatives designed to tackle the root causes of child labour while contributing to sustainable global business models and to viable communities for children to grow up in, including showcasing of new Global Child Forum research on child labour policies.

11.45 – 12.30       Making the Grade: How business can secure quality education for all

Conversation with panellists on the role of business in ensuring that all children, especially girls, are educated and develop their full potential to participate and contribute to the new global economy. Including references to findings from Global Child Forum mapping of ‘Business Investments in Education’

16.30 – 16.45      The Win-Win Scenario: Future-proofing business through social innovation and collaboration

As societal issues become more complex, the decreasing impact of governments will also coincide with the increasing influence of civil society and civic minded corporations. Collaboration is key to the success of social innovation.

16.45 – 17.30      The Bottom Line:  Investing in children’s rights

This session examines the role of government, legislation and finance in accelerating responsible business’s actions to advance children’s rights. This session will also showcase the Global Child Forum-GES investors’ perspective report.

17.30 – 18.05      Taking Responsibility: Managing community and environmental impact

This session will discuss how businesses can work effectively with communities, NGOs and governments to mitigate their negatives impacts on local communities while increasing their social contribution. In this session, the Global Child Forum case study on Norsk Hydro will also be showcased.

18.05 – 18.15       Summary and conclusion
