Building Partnerships for the Protection of Children

About the Business Conference

Little over a year ago, on 8 September 2015, the Global Child Forum on Southern Africa took place in Pretoria. The Forum brought together 300 regional leaders from business, civil society, government and academia, to discuss children’s rights, sustainable business practices and action needed. Under the patronage of Ms Graça Machel, a number of innovative ideas and initiatives were launched. One of these was CRES – The Corporate Responsibility to Eliminate the Sale of Children.

Now, Global Child Forum, CRES, NBI and Nedbank invite you to a conference with inspiring speakers, workshops and networking opportunities for business and children’s rights. We will share best practice, experiences and ideas on how your company can contribute positively to children throughout your daily operations.

During the day, we will continue the discussion started at the Forum last year about the importance of partnerships and the role and opportunity for business to address children’s rights. Speakers such as Mr Vassi Naidoo, Chairman of Nedbank Group, and xxx from xxx, will share insights on what business can do, and should do, to further children’s rights in general as well as more specifically on the issue of child sexual exploitation. From the day, we hope to inspire to more action and commitment, as well as new partnerships for the region’s children.

The conference is invitation only. For questions or more information about the event contact us at event@globalchildforum.org
